The finishing touches on the house must have been made around Dec. 17th, 1926.
This date is carved into the wall at the basement stairs along with the name of the builder.

He was our great uncle. His time in the house came to an unexpected end when his barn, just out behind the house, burnt down. So he moved off to a much smaller house where there was another barn. We first began our project by starting to clean up the place. We picked up clothes that mice or rats had lived in and we burnt them in the barn’s foundation. There were all kinds of antique dishes and pictures of people that date back to the settling
times of this county. Some were in frames, so we hung them up, and sort of brought them back to life once more. The back stairway still has an outpouring of Christmas cards running all the way down to your feet. Each and every one of them appears to be written in. Raccoons had gotten inside there and probably knocked over a box of them. We climbed up on the roof and moved a lot of bricks around at the chimney to keep them out for the time being.
We put new faucets in at almost every place where the water runs because the old ones were corroded and ran all the time. We refinished a wood floor, painted a couple of the rooms upstairs, turned a claw-foot tub into a workable shower, and deemed the place livable. At that point, we put a recording studio in. Within this house we recorded our self-titled EP, followed by our second work, “The Night We Left Home.”  We are currently recording some more.
